Fire completely destroyed a five-bedroom house at Anse Aux Pins yesterday afternoon.

A house in Anse Royale has been partially damaged by fire.
The incident happened on Saturday and the Seychelles Fire and Rescue services Agency (SFRSA) said it received a call regarding a fire outbreak in a house at Anse Royale at 1.13pm and immediately two fire tenders from Anse Royale fire station were deployed with a total crew of eight fire fighters assisted by one water bowser. Another fire tenders from the Victoria fire station with a crew of four fire fighters also rushed to the scene.
Fire partially damaged a house at Anse Louis in the early hours of Friday, according to the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the agency said it received a call regarding a fire outbreak in a house at 0053hrs and immediately deployed three fire tenders from the Anse Royale fire station, and a 10-member crew.
Chief Fire Officer of the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency, Tally Domingue, has said a fire station in north Mahé is still a priority for the agency given the many tourism establishments, the large population and the time it takes to beat the heavy traffic in Victoria during peak hours to reach the northern areas in case of a fire.
As part of celebrations to mark the International Firefighters’ Day, the Seychelles Fire & Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA) in collaboration with the Airport Fire Services organised a motorcade along some main streets of Victoria on Saturday, showcasing their assets such as vehicles and fire tenders.
The deputy chief fire officer Jones Madeleine yesterday presented the Strategic Plan of the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency (SFRSA) to the Minister for Internal Affairs, Errol Fonseka.
The ceremony, held at the Docklands Auditorium, formed part of activities for International Firefighters Day celebrated on May 4.
